We had nothing planned for today. I slept until about
midday. Took a shower, toasted my clothes and got a call from Tebogo to come
down to the Student Center. Dontranika and I got ready and went down there. I
wasn’t feeling so well. By the time we got there I was feeling completely sick. I
was weak and could barely walk on my own. Tebogo brought me to a medical truck
right outside. I laid down on the bed in an effort to ease some of the pain,
but the smell of the pillow made me nauseous. What the hell kind of dirty
pillow was that?
Some guy who thought he was a doctor came with a stethoscope
and tried to figure out what the problem was. As usual, the final decision was
to give me some pills. I don’t want pills! I just want to go to sleep until the
pain goes away. We got a ride back to my room, where Tebogo made sure I was
tucked in and ok. Then everybody else left and went to the mall.
Dontranika, Alicia, and Tebogo checked up on me periodically via text messaging
to make sure I wasn’t dead. I appreciated that. They came back from the mall
about 5 hours later and planned to go to the barn again. Dontranika and I
decided to stay in our rooms instead. About an hour later, I heard someone
screaming my name from outside. I opened my window and looked out. Sure enough
it was Tebogo checking up on me. That’s my homie!
